Then a priest from nearby Dijon, Monsignor Fourrier, had a vision – the world-famous Burgundy wines would be made from Pinot Noir. He made wine for his friends, and soon his son Jacques joined in. Their first real vintage was 1921, and their first commercial vintage was 1936. Although Monsignor Fourier died in 1906 and Jacques in 1971, little has changed. Both of them loved food and wine.”
